Research - Wavemakers - regenerating Stoke with Robbie Williams

Community sparkplug consultancy (with the Lancastrian legend of digital, James Boardwell).

We were commissioned by Comic Relief, NESTA and Robbie Williams (yes, that one), to carry out research in Stoke and make recommendations for a legacy digital project for young people to help with community regeneration.

Rather than a traditional procurement approach, we decided to find the community sparkplugs who were already ‘making waves’ in Stoke and to bring them together for three days to develop a legacy project for young people in the city.

The output was the creation of Stoke’s first maker lab for young people, Wavemaker which is going from strength to strength.
